Letter Aa week!

Last week we learned all about the letter Aa, and we visited Africa! We talked about how Africa is a continent, and not a country. We made African Good Luck hands during centers!

We started our week off by celebrating Sophie's birthday!!  We really enjoyed the yummy chocolate cupcakes!
We had 3 kids join the Dojo Club this week!! They were sooooooo excited!! I am so proud of their hard work and awesome behavior!! Way to go Lauren, Trey, and Madisyn!!!

This class really loves play-doh, so they use it often! They made letter Aa out of play-doh!
Molly ( cutie above) met her Rookie Reader goal last week!!  Wow!! Readers are leaders!

All week the kids asked about our apple tasting.... and FINALLY we made it to Friday!!! I've never had a class where everyone loved apples! I was surprised to see everyone enjoy their apples!! After we talked about the names of each apple and tasted them, we made a graph to see which was the class favorite. It was close.... but it looks like yellow apples were the class favorite!

Friday was also spirit day!! We love our warriors!!!!!  #cuties #twinning

Bb Week!

Learning about letter Bb was a blast!! It is one of my favorite weeks because bee starts with Bb!
I'm sure you have heard about our little bee friends that we have in our class. Mama bee, Buzzy, and Betsy love being a part of our class! They help Mrs. Jodi and I look for kids who are making good choices!

The kids really loved learning about bees and making beehives!

We also "visited" Beijing, China! We learned about panda bears and Chinese Dragons! Everyone loved watching the pandas on the panda cam !

On Thursday, We made beaver puppets and learned a counting song !

Friday, We enjoyed snow cones from Kona Ice, but I forgot to take pictures!!  We had a super fun week!!!

Letter Tt Week!

Learning about letter Tt was terrific!! Every week we will "visit" a place that corresponds with the letter of the week. This week we boarded our private plane and went to Thailand!!  The kids had a great time painting beautiful Thai elephants! They learned the difference between water colors and tempra paint, and how oil pastels work differently than crayons! This was a two day project, but the final product turned out awesome!!

Friday, we ended  the week with a teddy bear tea party! We made top hats and tiaras to wear to the party! It was so much fun! We talked about how to use good table manners and the kids snacked on teddy grahams and apple"tea".

Gingerbread Week!!

We had so much this week! We read many versions of the Gingerbread Man, and created a lot of cute art!! The kids are doing a great job of learning how to rotate during centers and they are loving our new computer based reading program, Reading Eggs! Thursday, we made our very own Gingerbread Man during centers! I took him to the cafeteria to bake, but those magic sprinkles made him jump out of the oven and run away!!! Friday morning we looked all over the school for him! He left us 5 clues that eventually led us back to the classroom, and he was on a table! We finally caught him and were able to eat him!! Here are a few pictures from our adventure!!!

                                        We LOVE Reading Eggs!!
